Intervals

The interval specifies how often a movie or image file is saved to disk. You can change these settings to specify when periodic capture occurs.

Examples

To start the periodic picture taking, you must select "Start Periodic Capture" from the Document menu. To stop taking pictures, select "Stop Periodic Capture" from the Document menu.

Note: These settings do not affect streaming video access. To disable/enable streaming video, use the checkbox in the live streaming status window.

Note: Remember that for QuickTime time-lapse movies, the interval is not how often a frame of video is added to a movie, but rather the length of time during which the images are being recorded for a movie.

Save Picture/Movie Every

You can select a number of seconds, minutes, or hours to wait before saving another picture or movie to disk.

File Save Sound

SiteCam can play a sound just before taking a picture. This feature can be used as a simple sound effect, or you can use a long-playing sound to give yourself time to pose in front of the camera.

To add sounds to the menu, create or find a System 7 sound file and drop it into the "System" file that is located in your System Folder. You can record your own alert sounds using the Sound (or Monitors & Sounds) control panel.

Start

SiteCam lets you choose when the first image will be saved.

Active

If you want to mask out certain times of the day or week, you can have SiteCam take pictures only during the times that you have selected. QuickTime movies that are started always record for their interval setting and do not terminate when a time block-out period is entered.
